In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Trek has voluntarily issued a safety recall on the SR SunTour suspension fork (photo) found on all of its 3700D and 3900D bicycles from the 2012 model year.
The recall issue
The fork can break and cause the rider to lose control and crash.
There have been 12 reported incidents including a laceration and a chipped tooth.
How to identify if you have this bicycle and fork
This recall involves ALL Trek 3700D and 3900D bicycles from 2012 with suspension fork date codes CK110301 through CK110731. "SR SunTour" and the date code are printed on the back of the fork crown (photo).
If you have this bicycle and/or fork, please stop using it immediately and return it to us or your nearest authorized Trek retailer for a free repair.
